Loic Marcon: Voice and Representation Manager

I am a public health professional with six plus years of experience spanning a diverse range of health equity-related work. I have a varied background spanning homelessness outreach, partnership development, social impact technology, and health policy. In 2021 I graduated with a BA in Public Health – Global Health from The University of Washington in Seattle, where I led a departmental honours cohort. Participating in the cohort catalysed my passion for the community-oriented public health practice, health policy and economics, and education.

I went on to work for the Statutory Sector in Seattle, Washington where I conducted robust vaccine outreach and education for communities experiencing homelessness, expanding access to COVID-19 vaccines. Following this, I worked for Unite Us, a social impact technology company that unites health and social care through a closed loop referral platform. I built and managed relationships across the Voluntary Secotr, government agencies, and health systems to reshape the health and care system in Washington state. I moved to London in 2023, pursuing a MSc in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing between the London School of Economics and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I wrote my dissertation on the implementation of expanded health coverage for people who are incarcerated in California to prevent mental health crises following their release from prison.

At METRO GAVS I am the Voice and Representation Manager, working within the Capacity Building and Infrastructure Support Service. Through this role, I am working to mobilise the new Greenwich Community Accountancy Programme, representing and advocating for the Voluntary Sector within Greenwich-based boards, partnerships, and communities of practice, and ensuring that METRO GAVS is facilitating a vibrant and sustainable Voluntary Sector through its overall offer to groups and organisations within the borough. When I am not working at METRO GAVS, I am busy playing football for Stonewall FC, Europe’s leading LGBTQ+ football club. You can also find me at the cinema as much as I can, exploring London parks, or on a countryside hike.
