Mark Delacour: Director of External Affairs

I am a seasoned professional who has extensive experience in Voluntary Sector marketing and communications, having previously work at Broken Rainbow UK and the Consortium of LGBT+ Voluntary and Community Organisations. At METRO Charity I am the Director of External Affairs, and provide strategic leadership for communications, policy, and research. I manage the Communications Team, which includes the organisation's social media, website, publications, advertising, public relations, individual giving, and core events. Moreover, I oversee the insight function which delivers policy and research work across the organisation, developing insights from our service delivery to drive further research and inform policy. I also lead the development of new enterprise work, finding entrepreneurial ways to fund more aspiration based services.
Within my role I am the Strategic Lead for METRO GAVS, through which my primary focus is to ensure that the Greenwich Voluntary Sector possesses a powerful voice in its collaborations with Statutory and Voluntary stakeholders. By facilitating the sector’s representation, I aim to empower the Voluntary Sector and amplify its impact. To support this objective, I oversee the management of Andrew Kerr, who leads the Capacity Building and Infrastructure Support Service within METRO GAVS. He is also responsible for the development and management of the Greenwich Hub for Influence, Voice, and Engagement (G-HIVE), a critical component of METRO GAVS's operations.
I currently serve as a member on various partnership boards within the Royal Borough of Greenwich. These include the Health and Wellbeing Board, Healthier Greenwich Partnership, and Safer Neighbourhood Board. Through my participation in these influential bodies, I actively contribute to the advancement of collaborative efforts in enhancing health, wellbeing, and overall community cohesion in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
