After five-and-a-half years at METRO Charity, and almost five years at GAVS, Andrew Kerr will be leaving his role as Head of Place and Partnerships, and Strategic Lead for GAVS, on the 31 March.

)

Having first started at METRO in October 2020 as the Fund Manager for the LGBTQ+ COVID-19 Fund, Andrew began working for GAVS in July 2021. During his time at GAVS, he established the Greenwich Hub for Influence, Voice, and Engagement (G-HIVE), managed and oversaw the Capacity Building and Infrastructure Support Service, Greenwich Community Accountancy Programme, and Young Londoners Fund. He has acted as the Voluntary Sector Representative for a range of boards, partnerships, steering groups, working groups, alliances, and community of practice within Greenwich, across South East London, and pan-London, delivered the GAVS Digital Transformation Programme to improve and streamline GAVS's internal and external digital infrastructure, and, most recently, lead the transition, migration, and handover of GAVS from METRO to BVSC.

To quote several staff and stakeholders across the borough, over the last five years, Andrew has completely transformed GAVS, greatly resorted its reputation within Greenwich, and worked tirelessly to ensure that the Voluntary Sector is not only supported but represented and advocated for across the Health and Social Care System. His ability to connect with people is inspirational, his dedication to his work is not only admirable but second to none, and everything he did was done so tirelessly for others, often putting their needs above his own. Greenwich owes him a huge debt of gratitude, and his legacy will live on in the foundation he has set for the borough, its Voluntary Sector, and the Health and Social Care System. Everyone at GAVS wishes him every success in his future endeavours which, in case anyone was not aware already, is going to initially be in Bali for a few months training as a Yoga Instructor.
