Trustee Recruitment

The Charity Commission has refreshed its guidance on the recruitment of trustees after research revealed that only 6% of trustees applied for their role via an advert.

This meant that by far the vast majority were recruited "informally" through personal contact, which is not considered good practice. The refreshed guidance focuses on practical steps charities can take to connect with a broader range of candidates, and how to identify and remove barriers that may put people off applying for the role.  Read more here.
