Greenwich Hub for Influence, Voice and Engagement (G-HIVE)

The Greenwich Hub for Influence, Voice, and Engagement (G-HIVE) was run by METRO GAVS between July 2021 and October 2025. The aims of G-HIVE were to improve the joint working between the Statutory and Voluntary Sectors within the Royal Borough of Greenwich, and redress deep-rooted health inequalities in the borough. Building upon on the collaboration which occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, the intention was to change the way in which projects, programme, services, and activities engaged with local communities and Voluntary Sector groups and organisations.

The long-term vision for G-HIVE was to create a powerful infrastructure that better ensures representation of local health and social care needs which reflected local communities’ aspirations. G-HIVE was centred on building a culture of system change which should lead to reduced demand on the NHS and social care. Moreover, it started a culture change within the Health and Social Care System which built trust, developed preventative services that local communities actively shape, and that they valued in the medium-to-long-term.

With the programme concluding on the 11 October, the G-HIVE Programme Team evaluated the impact and achievements which it had within the borough, plus learning and recommendations from their experiences of designing, developing, and delivery it over the four year period.
