Healthwatch Greenwich are the independent champion for people who use health and social care services in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. This report details patient and provider observations of the NHS in the borough.

South East London ICB designed this report to identify key metrics relating to these overall aims and should be read alongside the SEL ICB Annual Report and Annual Accounts 23/24 plus our Joint Forward Plan all of which are published on our website. Each section within this report addresses a specific health domain, looking at health inequalities by age, deprivation, ethnicity, and gender.

During our visit, we witnessed a nurturing environment with warmth and respect. Staff were attentive to residents' needs and tailored daily outings and hobbies to their interests. Family members shared their appreciation for this care, describing the compassionate approach of staff. However, families highlighted concerns with staff turnover and a lack of communication.

Samuel Close 1 is a care home in a secluded and quiet area, close to public transport. It has 6 bedrooms and currently has 4 residents. The care home is a purpose-built, one-story building designed to accommodate residents with mobility issues. Healthwatch Greenwich carried out a visiti to understand quality of life, and views of those using the service and the experience and perceptions of relatives and carers.
